(Sept. 2024) Connecting with Others is the second episode of the three-part documentary series “Being Digi-Sapiens” released by Warner Bros. Discovery. It features the Swedish inventor, roboticist and YouTuber Simone Giertz as she travels across Europe to see how technology is transforming our daily lives. The series was made with support from Huawei and features a broad range of digital innovations, reaching far beyond the brand’s own products.

In “Connecting with Others,” we meet a merchant named Juan, who has worked at Málaga’s oldest public markets, Mercado de Atarazanas, with his family since 1958. He tells Simone that recent improvements have made it possible to process orders online and better track inbound and outbound shipments. Improved connectivity lets vendors reach new customers, and also improves the experience of those who come to the site.

We see Simone visit a family winery in Germany where 5G lets vintners monitor environmental conditions such as soil humidity and pest damage. Simone also heads to the Netherlands to visit one of Huawei’s main supply and logistics centers, where automated vehicles are remotely piloted by AI.
